I have “ummed” and “aghhhed” about virtual furniture before. On one hand, virtual furniture really does make the home look as it could be – at its best. It fills the rooms and breathes life into the property. This helps people realise the true potential of the property.
However, on the other hand, if you have virtual furniture and then bring people around to an empty home, they could feel let down by what is remaining. A shell without ambience. I have always felt that you can never recover from a disappointment.
Yet… I am really coming around to the prospect of the virtual furniture. It is expensive – probably more than photos at $60 per image. However it is certainly cheaper than staging. And, like many other things, dont go a cheap virtual furniture as it can look very tacky and fake.
This was one home that really benefitted from virtual furniture and I dont think that an empty home will turn people off. The furniture is not hiding anything, but giving people ideas of what this blank canvas could truly look like. Let me know what you think!
